4 guns seized at Port

A St Michael man was due to appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrate court today following the discovery of  guns and drugs in a consignment at the Bridgetown Port.

Rico Antonio Greenidge, 26, of Free Hill, Black Rock, St Michael, has been charged with the unlawful possession of four firearms; the unlawful importation of four firearms; possession of 1.8 kilogrammes of cannabis;possession with intent to supply trafficking; and importation.

According to police, Greenidge was detained last Friday after he attempted to clear a consignment at the Bridgetown Port, which was shipped to him.

A search by Customs officials uncovered the automatic handguns and illegal drugs hidden in boxes of detergent.

    He has got to be a very bold dim-wit to try to bring them in through the Port, maybe he got away with it before and was trying his luck again.Security has got be maintained and further tightened. Guns, and especially illegal guns, in the wrong hands pose a serious threat to entire communities.

    Elliott u for got there are some very dumb criminals out there and he’s one of them .all he have to do now is when he arrive @ this hi-tech hotel call DODDS, make sure there’s no PEPER IN THE VASELINE .from the north pole

    Kudos to the officials for the discovery, But before we condemn the young man the investigations must proceed and the right questions must be asked to confirm his part in the act and that he is either criminal or victim.
