Drawing his number earlier this afternoon, Ram, who celebrated his birthday today, told Bajan Vibes it was extra special for him.

“Today is the third of February –– my birthday. So it’s no raffle up nothing. I was so lucky; and three was there for me! So if I come third, that would be great too,” Ram said with a chuckle.

He said he was confident going into the finals.

“I’m walking fearless. Three is the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. So I’m going with that. I’m ready for Friday,” he stressed.

Ram, who will be performing his smash hit All Ah We, said that thanks to his team he was all prepared for the finals.

“We are getting ready with everything. My management team is a strong team. Along with my advisor Donna Matthews, they have everything under control,” he said.

But the reigning Barbados Party Monarch is not concentrating on winning; just going and doing his best.

“If I place, I would be contented. If I had to win this, boy, I really don’t know. I can’t even begin to describe that feeling. I would love to place; so I am going to go and do my best, because I came to do well,” Ram declared confidently.

Hypasounds, who will be performing How She Like It, said preparations were coming along nicely and he too was ready for Friday. The International Trinidad Soca Monarch Competition begins at 8 p.m. at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

Bajan Vibes wishes both Ram and Hypasounds the very best. But no matter the outcome, they have already done themselves and their country proud. (DB)
