Employees given dream vacation in Barbados

The 30 employees who were surprised with an all-expenses paid trip to Barbados

Thirty staff members of York based travel agency, The Group Company, got the trip of a lifetime as they were surprised with an all expenses paid trip to Barbados in celebration of their 10th anniversary.

Relaxing poolside at the Radisson Aquatica Resort earlier today, chief executive officer of The Group Company Helen Bilton, told Barbados TODAY that some her staff members were still in disbelief and shock after she revealed the surprise.

“They were very excited, they screamed a little bit, they couldn’t believe this for a while” she said.

Grateful for their contributions and overall performance over the past ten years, Bilton believed that her employees deserved something special – a trip to Barbados.

“It’s a really good team and they worked really hard, so we thought about having a party in the UK for all our clients and all our suppliers, and then I thought about it and I thought ‘no, what I really want to do is say a big thank you to all of the team for all of their hard work’, so instead I booked us all a trip to Barbados,” Bilton disclosed.

Solely organizing the trip for six months before the big reveal, Bilton insisted that Barbados was the ideal location.

“We wanted somewhere funny, friendly,” Bilton said, adding “and where we could get to in not too long a journey.”

Having previously visited the island last year with family during the Easter holidays, Bilton instinctively chose Barbados as it is “a lovely lovely island”.

Spending three nights at the four star Radisson Resort, the 30 employees will be indulging in all Barbados has to offer, including sailing on the Jammin Catamaran Cruises, go-karting at Bushy Park and a lavish beach dinner on their anniversary tomorrow at the Lobster Pot. (KK)
