Dr Agard granted leave
It will be another five weeks before embattled Member of Parliament for Christ Church West Dr Maria Agard returns to Parliament.
An undisclosed illness has forced Dr Agard out of the national spotlight and away from her constituency since the start of the year and she was hospitalized in mid-January after suffering a medical setback, one day after reporting she was on the mend following recent life-saving surgery.
Shortly after the House of Assembly resumed sitting yesterday morning after its Christmas recess, Speaker Michael Carrington announced he had received a letter from Dr Agard requesting leave of absence to recuperate from her recent illness.
Responding to the request, Leader of Government Business and Member of Parliament for Christ Church South John Boyce confirmed that leave had been granted from January 26 to March 1, 2016.
