Quinzel Mayers won the People’s Choice, which was the online segment of the promotion. People were invited to vote online on the company’s Facebook page for the best lit house. Also adjudged “top houses” this year were those of Sophia Worme, Tracey Grazette and Hartley Reid.

Communications public relations administrator Jackie Marshall-Clarke, commenting on the Brighten Your Christmas, 2015 promotion, said it had met all the company’s objectives.

“We wanted persons to brighten their lives during the Christmas season and brighten their homes. And how best to do that than through Christmas lights.

“Then, we wanted persons to think safety and efficiency when decorating for Christmas using LED Christmas lights. Further, we wanted to bring the community spirit back into Christmas; and we did, especially with the support given to the winners through social media.”

National sales manager for LED Caribbean Lighting, Kurt Haynes, said people had responded well to the Christmas promotion and the LED Christmas lights.

“Like all LED lights, the Christmas lights use less energy, are more efficient and have all the features of the traditional lights. With such a product and a great partner like Light & Power, we knew that the promotion would be a success. We encourage Barbadians to use LED lighting for their general lighting all through the year.”

The Brighten Your Christmas, 2015 promotion was a first-of-its-kind for Light & Power, and in expressing her thanks for public participation in the competition, Marshall-Clarke said: “It was not a simple task for the judges. However, it was most enjoyable since it was Christmas time. We will look forward to an even brighter Christmas in 2016.” (PR)
