HypaSounds is in!

Barbadian soca artiste HypaSounds has booked a spot into the finals of the International Soca Monarch 2016 after taking Trinidad and Tobago by storm with his popular Crop Over hit How She Like It following Sunday’s semi-finals at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

The delighted performer told Barbados TODAY it was just a reward for his hard work over the years.

“I feel good . . . I feel sugary. It’s a great feeling, It was really emotional. Some tears came to my eyes because I know the struggles I’ve been through. This is my tenth year anniversary and everything is coming together.

“Keep me in your prayers. Keep the vibes positive. As the only Bajan in the competition I will keep that flag up and do what I have to do, “ he said.

HypaSounds will face seasoned performers, including Shurwayne Winchester, Farmer Nappy, Blaxx and Patrice Roberts who have all qualified in the final set for Fantastic Friday.

Barbadian Party Monarch and Road March King Peter Ram is also eyeing the two remaining spots in the finals.

He is among four wildcards that will compete via public voting for a place.

Three other Barbadians artistes Biggie Irie, Iweb and King Bubba had competed in the semifinals.
