Man remanded on gun charges

COURT TODAY BLOCKA Waverley Cot, St George man was remanded to HMP Dodds after appearing in the District ‘C’ Magistrates Court earlier today on two gun-related charges and another involving intentional damage to property.

Magistrate Christopher Birch read the charges to Hallam Rudolph Smith, 46, who stood accused of unlawfully and maliciously engaging in conduct which placed Anderson Crichlow in danger of death or serious bodily harm by shooting him last May 29.

Smith is also charged with a second indictable offence of using an unlicensed firearm as well as a third count of intentionally damaging a window belonging to Crichlow.

The accused was not required to plead. His cases were transferred to the District ‘B’ Magistrates Court where he will appear on January 20.
