Bikers give helping hand
Black Knight (BK) Bikers roared into town on Friday afternoon with a special delivery.
For the past few years the group of young men and women, who operate from My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, have made it their responsibility to help those in need around the island.
President of the BK charity group Fabian ‘Prez’ Reeves, explained that they donate two to three food baskets every month .
“What we do each year is that we have a food basket drive and we try to look out for people who are trying to make ends meet [and] trying their best. We see how the economy is right now, so however we can assist, we lend a helping hand and seek out people that are trying to make an effort,” Reeves told Barbados TODAY as members Ricardo ‘Big Kelly’ Kellman and Dwayne ‘Young Money’ Small looked on.
One of the recipients was sno-cone vendor Elizabeth Rollins who was happy for the gift.
“I feel happy. I received it already and I wasn’t really looking forward to it again. I just thought that somebody else would have gotten it.
“I am thankful. I am very grateful for it especially in these very hard economic times and I am really proud of my brothers for helping out a sister because she needs the help,” the mother of four told Barbados TODAY.
The Black Knight Bikers have also teamed up with entertainer Jamaal ‘Supa Star’ Green to get their message across. That will be featured in an upcoming music video entitled Determination.
“That’s every day living. It reminds the people that there are goals out there so keep moving forward with determination as the lyrics in the song says motivation. So it’s just a reminder for the people to keep struggling, keep hustling, keep moving onwards,” Green said.
