Red hot champs

Red House are the new track and field champions at People’s Cathedral School after their inter-house sports was held today at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

McKenzie Payne of Red House was a clear winner in the pre-school girls 10m bucket race ahead of Gemma Lowe of Blue House.

Blue House had captured the title three years straight and were hoping for a fourth but were easily out-paced this year by Red House who tallied 560 points. Green House were second with 528 while Blue House edged Yellow House for third position with the two collecting 478 and 420 points respectively.

The victor ludorum honour went to under-13 king Timothy Worrell of Yellow House with a commendable 51 points. Worrell beat out the likes of Jeremy Gill the top male performer in the under-11 boys division. Victrix ludorum also came from the under-13 division in the person of Regina Lowe of Green House with 40 points.

In the under-11 division Chatony Thorpe of Green House was the best among the girls for her 30 points and Koen Blackman also with 30 was the pick among the boys for Red House.

Red House athletes really commanded the track and Bu’jaco Chance was among them with a tally of 39 points in the under-nine boys division. They were unable to take a clean sweep in that category, though, as Jakayla Small of Green House with 33 points was the best among the girls.

The under-seven boys division went to Zachary Burke of Blue House. He tallied 33 points. Red House ruled again in the under-seven girls compliments of Kefhonna Osford with 26 points.
