Fire strikes

Fire damaged an unoccupied wall house in Lammings Park, St Joseph.

The house is owned by 73-year-old Carlotta Williams.

One resident told Barbados TODAY that the fire began in the back of the house just before three this afternoon.

But quick action by neighbours brought the fire under control before personnel from the Barbados Fire Service arrived on the scene.

Twelve fire officers under the command of Divisional officer Ricardo Gittens responded to the blaze.

Investigations are underway into the cause of the fire.

Nope the pressure was low so the garden hoses weren’t sufficient but the fast response of the fire service was great
