Police out in full force for Old Year’s Night

Police officers will be out in full force tonight.

That assurance has come from Public Relations Officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch.

A statement issued this afternoon said “police wish to inform the public that significant resources have been committed to policing the island from the evening of New Year’s Eve to assure the safety of those persons attending church and party events.”

Welch also asked persons to practice good crime prevention and road safety.

Persons are also asked to know that Aquatic Gap, St Michael will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m.  Police officers will be on duty to assist with the regulation of traffic.
