Freak accident at gas station

Clean-up operations were in progress at the Sol gas station on Bay Street, St Michael today, following a freak accident last night.

A sports utility vehicle ploughed through the convenience store, shattering the glass and taking store attendants by surprise.

Thankfully, no one was injured.

However, investigations are continuing and SOL is due to issue a statement on the matter.

The vehicle plunged into the store taking everyone by surprise.

I never imagined a shop would be so stupid as to walk in front of a speeding car.

It’s a tad hilarious, but not in the least bit funny. While not mentioned, one assumes that R.B.P.F. will consider charges under the Traffic Act, and not let the owner’s insurance ( insurance?) merely deal with civil damages.

As breathalyzers- both the promised Act, as well as the equipment- continue to be on the R.B.P.F. “Wanted List”, look out for another outbreak of “I am concerned” statements from some quite irrelevant goriliphant.

God help us: if a goripiphant’s child was maimed in this place whilst buying a ham-cutter, these things would be put right…at the speed of a mad car entering a SOL canteen.

I do not see any protective bars in front of the parking spaces.

All establishments where cars park directly in front of the entrance and where glass is the only barrier carry these 4 ft iron pylons as a safety measure for instances such as this.

@, Tony,W, hail, hail, good shot, bajans seems to make sure ,they are not left out , of disgraceful driving habits around the globe.. this XMAS, in the ( UK ),2 such accidents, 1 fatally,
in the USA, 1 we have heard of ,not much info and in Belgium , 1 such, only , the fatality in the UK. I would love to know , what action , was taken by our BPF. against the driver,
The other mention countries , all enforce breath testing, and arrest for dangerous , until end of investigations.

@jrsmith. And in the US & UK the police shoot down young black men & jail them for crimes they don’t commit. And Travon was murdered in the streeta & his murderer aint get a day. Lets get some statistics about that.

I would suspect that the vehicle was running low on gas, and knowing how smart some of the newer vehicles are these days might have thought there was gas in de shop, so decided to take a look.
