Greene gets to spend Christmas in jail

COURT TODAY BLOCKUnfortunately for Kishmar Tito O’Brien Greene, he was the only one remanded after four men appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates court today.

The unemployed 34-year-old of Block 14E, Haynesville, St James will return to court on February 20, 2016 after being remanded by Magistrate Douglas Frederick this morning.

Green pleaded not guilty to assaulting police constables Akeel Grant and Antonio Knight and resisting them in the execution of their duty on December 22, 2015.

He is also charged with illegally entering the residence of Keisha Rock as a trespasser with a firearm, with intent to inflict grevious bodily harm on August 11, 2014, as well as trespassing on the same property with intent to steal on June 7, 2015.

Despite arguments from Greene’s lawyer Seifert Cadogan that his client was fit for bail, the Magistrate said the charges before the court were very serious.

Additionally, he said police were still trying to locate the gun which was allegedly used, and as such, they “needed time to carry out their duties without being interrupted”.
