No Christmas wedding for Prince

COURT TODAY BLOCKHe was preparing to leave the island tomorrow to attend a family wedding in Guyana.

Instead, the only festivities Renison Isiah Prince will experience are at HMP Dodds.

The unemployed 22-year-old of Fairfield, Black Rock, St Michael was remanded to prison despite pleading not guilty to stealing a chain and pendant belonging to Sharon Rock yesterday.

The two items have a total value of $1000.

In denying him bail, Magistrate Douglas Frederick told Prince he was already on bail for another matter, that the allegations were serious and there was an issue of whether a fine imposed on him in 2013 had been paid. That fine carried an alternative of three months in prison.

The outpatient at the Psychiatric Hospital denied committing the offence and assured the Magistrate that he was taking his medication.

However, Frederick remanded him until January 11, 2016 when he is set to reappear in court.
