Belmont primary group 6 winners of tennis championship

Belmont Primary didn’t have it easy on the court but they battled well today to emerge Group 6 winners in the 2015 Berger Royale/Cave Shepherd National Primary Schools’ Road Tennis Championship played at Blackman and Gollop Primary School.

Belmont Primary were represented by Teon Cadogan, Dario Hinds, Tyreke Best and Raziel Lopey.

They defeated St Lawrence 2-1 with the latter’s Rommel Nanton playing an excellent game to defeat Cadogan 23-21. However, St Lawrence’s Demary Nurse and Jesse Cox were both on the receiving end of sows, losing 21-4, 21-4  to Hinds and Best respectively.

Against All Saints Primary Belmont Primary again got a 2-1 result with Cadogan beating Joshua Husbands 21-12 and Hinds thrashing Tijah Bishop 21-4. However Lopey found stiff opposition from Najae Hinds and eventually succumbed 19-21.

In the third match-up All Saints got their first victory with a 2-1 result over the winless St Lawrence. Nanton, who had played so well against Belmont Primary, defeated St Lawrence’s best player in Hinds 23-21, while Husbands beat Nurse 21-7 and Bishop defeated Cox 21-9.
