Woman discontinues rape case
A Christ Church man walked out of Supreme Court No. 2 a free man today, after the complainant in a matter against him said she no longer wanted to pursue the case. Justice Margaret Reifer therefore discontinued the case against Charles Antonio Greenidge and warned him not to come before the court again. Greenidge, at the time 21, of Block 2K Silver Hill, was accused of having sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 14, on June 28, 2010. When the complainant took the witness stand today, she told the court that she was 12 at the time, five years had since passed and she was no longer interested in going through with the matter. Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Donna Babb-Agard Q.C appeared on behalf of the Crown while attorney-at-law Dave Cumberbatch represented Greenidge.
