Talented female footballers taking the field

Barbadian female talent will be among those on display when the Caribbean Football Union’s Under 17 Championship starts next week in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The biannual event will be hosted by the Federación Puertorriqueña de Fútbol at Estadio Juan Roman Loubriel from November 13 to 22. The finals will be contested by eight teams which will be split into two groups.

Group 1 will showcase Bermuda, Cuba, Jamaica and host nation Puerto Rico. In Group 2, defending champions Trinidad and Tobago will face Barbados, the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

The championships will kick off on November 13 with Cuba taking on Bermuda at 4:30 p.m. followed by Puerto Rico versus Jamaica at 7:30 p.m.

Group 2 will begin play on November 14, with Trinidad and Tobago taking on the Dominican Republic at 4:30 p.m. followed by Haiti playing Barbados at 7:30 p.m.

The top two CFU teams will qualify for the Under 17 CONCACAF finals in Grenada in March.
