Man pleads guilty to importing marijuana
On Monday, Junior Michael Mascoll pleaded guilty to possession, trafficking and importing 297. 5 kilogrammes of marijuana on June 19, 2014. Mascoll, of #4 Pipers Avenue, Bayville, St Michael, had the contraband with the territorial waters of Barbados. The facts which Principal Crown Counsel Elwood Watts read to the court today, revealed that Coast Guard officers intercepted a vessel called Blue Diamond, five nautical miles off Alleyne’s Bay, St. James. Mascoll was on board at the time. The officers also saw a number of brown taped polythene bags, so they escorted Mascoll and the boat to Coast Guard Headquarters. Justice Jacqueline Cornelius ordered a presentencing report on Mascoll who continues on remand until January 27, 2016.
