Man dies on his ‘doorstep’

A St Michael man collapsed and died suddenly today.

Relatives and friends are mourning the loss of 52-year-old Robert Ricardo Brathwaite who fell to the ground around 12:50 p.m. at Belle Road No.1, My Lord’s Hill, St Michael, just a few houses away from his home.

It was reported that the man was on his way home when he collapsed.

Family members, some of whom quietly wept, were too shocked and distraught to
speak to the media about their loved one.

However, those residents who gathered at the scene described the Brathwaite as a “quiet” handyman.

“He was so quiet then. You just used to see he coming and going. He didn’t give no trouble ‘bout here,” the resident said.

I know it is a very sad moment and not to make light of it, but what is the significance of the umbrella?
