Missing man ‘safe’

sister receives call from richie luke

There were smiles in the Luke household in Parish Land, St Philip, yesterday after missing man Richie Luke, who had not been seen for eight days, called his sister Sharon Luke to say he was safe.

Richie Luke’s (inset) sister, Sharon Luke, and his mother, Ermenthe Luke, have every reason to be happy after they heard from him today.

Sister Sharon Luke, and his mother, Ermenthe Luke, have every reason to be happy after they heard from him today.

A team from Barbados TODAY visited his rural home this afternoon and asked his mother, Ermenthe Luke, to speak with him, but she said although he had spoken to his sister from a City location he is yet to turn up at his home.

His mother said Luke often stays away from home for three to four days when he gets paid, but she raised the alarm when he did not turn up after the usual time span.

The father of three was once employed at C O Williams Construction as a truck driver, but was unemployed when family members told lawmen that he had gone missing.

His mother told Barbados TODAY that she has been concerned about his physical health for some time because he often complains of headaches and she has suggested that he visited the polyclinic in Six Roads, St Philip, for a medical check-up.

Luke’s sister said she received a call from the police today and she informed them that her brother had called, however they said they cannot declare the case closed until the man turns up at the residence.

Richie Luke seh he okay. Richie mother seh Richie don’t usually stay away from home or without calling for so long (three days) only when it is pay day. It is obvious to me that Richie would have called or show up home once he had spent all of he pay cheque and therefore needed his poor old mother and sister to provide shelter and or food.
Richie reminds one of the “Prodigal boy “,but if i was he mama he would not get the welcome that he seem to be getting on return ,instead he would be met wid a empty pot flush in e head and told “ga bac weh ya come from, leh dem who help ya spen ya cheque house n feed ya, ya scum bag”.

Ritchie must have gotten a bigger pay check last time ’cause normally he would only stay away or not call for three days before showing up.
Richie bwoy you should be ashamed .
