Sheepherder sent for psychiatric evaluation
Eric Anderson Clarke, of Chapel Place, Culloden Road, St Michael, never pleaded to accosting motorists along Culloden Road on September 17.
Instead, when the charge was read to him, he began rattling on about his job of keeping sheep and how the Psychiatric Hospital “owe me money for years” of working there.
Additionally, Clarke told the court that the Prime Minister of Barbados had commissioned him “to play football for Barbados.”
When the magistrate asked whether he was represented by an attorney, Clarke replied that “it would have to be Sally Comissiong.” She was nowhere in the vicinity of the court.
When Clarke heard, however, that he was going to be remanded, he seemed appalled by the suggestion. “Remand me? Wunna gine see when Ms Comissiong get here,” he said.
Clarke will next appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on October 8 when he returns from his evaluation at the Psychiatric Hospital.
