Former Combermere principal passes away
Former principal of Combermere School Dorien Pile has died at the age of 73.
Pile passed away earlier this afternoon while undergoing further treatment for a recent surgical procedure.
The former principal who began her career as a geography teacher at Combermere School in the mid-1960s, later became deputy principal and before being promoted to the post of principal, a position she held during the last five years of her career. She had the distinction of being the first female to head the over 300 year old educational institution.
Pile, who was a past student of Queen’s College, leaves to mourn her husband Colvin Pile, and son David Pile.
