UPDATE – Men finish fifth in 4×100 metres relay

Barbados’s men’s 4×100 metre relay team finished fifth in the finals at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.

The quartet of Mario Burke, Levi Cadogan, Nicholas Deshong and Burkheart Ellis were unable to replicate their record breaking run in the semifinals, crossing the line in 38.79 seconds.

The race was won by Canada, in a new meet record of 38.06 seconds, breaking Antigua and Barbuda’s time of 38.14 which was only set yesterday.

The USA was second in 38.27, while Brazil was third in 38.68.

Jamaica did not finish the race, while Antigua and Barbuda was disqualified.

The women are set to compete in the 4×400 metre relay final later tonight.
