Trinidad – Abu Bakr released from custody
PORT OF SPAIN – Jamaat Al Muslimeen leader Imam Yasin Abu Bakr and Imam Hassan Ali, the father of Rajaee Ali, have been released from custody.
They were among eleven people taken into custody on Monday, and questioned by police investigating the murder of attorney Dana Seetahal.
The men were released at around 1.30pm. on Wednesday. The others people held are still in detention.
As he left the station, Abu Bakr thanked Allah for his release, and also his lawyer, wives , children and supporters who had kept vigil outside the station since his “incarceration”.
He said the Acting Commissioner of Police and other officers had dealt with him professionally.
He also thank members of the public, Muslims and non Muslims who, he said, that prayed for his release.
