Segway Polo team off to winning start

Barbados has got off to a winning start in the 2015 WOZ Segway Polo Challenge Cup in Cologne, Germany.

Playing in their first game today, Team Barbados trounced the Helmer Butterflies 5-1.

So dominant was the team’s performance, they scored all five of their goals before halftime.

First time captain Nevin Roach got off to a dream start, when he opened the scoring in just the second minute with a low shot which sneaked inside the post.

Ralf Luther doubled the lead two minutes later, before Brett Callaghan scored two quick goals to give them a 4-0 cushion.

Roach then added his second just before the halftime break to put the game out of the reach of their opponents.

The Butterflies did manage to grab a late consolation goal, but by then the outcome had already been decided.

The team play their three remaining group matches tomorrow against the Black Pirates, Aftershocks and the Segway Trip Polo Team.
