Church leaders reject same-sex marriage

Same-sex marriage must never be legalized in Barbados.

That’s the strong view of evangelical church leaders as they spoke out against the recent decision by the United States Supreme Court to sanction same-sex marriages across all 50 American States.

At a news conference organized by the Pastors Prayer Network today, Spokesman Reverend David Durant insisted that the Bible clearly prohibits homosexual relationships and churches must continue to abide by its principles.

He however made it clear that while the church will not support any condemnation or hostility towards members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community (LGBT), it cannot give its blessings to what God has forbid.
