BRA warns of counterfeit cheques

The Barbados Revenue Authority is advising the public to be extra vigilant following reports that counterfeit cheques, purportedly issued by the BRA, are in circulation.

The BRA is also warning local non-banking entities to be alert when accepting such payments on behalf of the institution.

“Persons should desist from accepting fraudulent cheques and do so at their own risk,” the BRA said in a brief statement.

“Anyone who is suspicious of any such cheques should inform the Authority and the royal Barbados Police Force,” it added.

The BRA has confirmed that there was one failed attempt by a member of the public to cash a false cheque and the incident has been reported to the Fraud Squad of the Royal Barbados Police Force.  (PR)

A joker that has been unleashed on Barbados and causing havoc in the country the results that will be seen only when it is too far gone. Oh for elections so that we can get rid of the sorry bunch who is responsible for installing her and confining Barbados to folly. She destroyed Inland Revenue, all the structures and ways of doing things, employed young inexperienced individuals who are forced to re-invent the wheel. Looking to do the same with Customs and the country will suffer asa a result

Since the Minister of Finance is chewing his cud, licking his lips and running his mouth about the success of the recent sale of bonds, you Miss Sivers needs to step up to the plate and pay the people all their tax returns – current and outstanding. Clearly some bright brain understand that money is flowing like milk and honey @ BRA, and decided to conceptualize a plan.

By the way what is the meaning of that third paragraph? Who is the speechwriter/PRO for BRA? Oh Lord, we are sinking!!!!
