Barbadians flock to sale

A large crowd converged on the premises of the former Amaryllis hotel looking for steals

Scores of people flocked to the Sugar Bay hotel in Hastings, Christ Church today to purchase items at discounted rates.

From 10 a.m, management of the former Amaryllis hotel opened its gates to dozens of anxiously awaiting buyers who rushed to purchase bath towels, drapes, sinks, bed sheets, curtains, cupboards, fridges and bed sets among other items.

Tow trucks were used to transport some of the merchandise bought

General Manager Sharon Hugh-White told Barbados TODAY that management was satisfied with the smooth running of the day’s proceedings.

There was a variety of items on sale

She indicated that the items which were not sold would be donated to charities and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Sugar Bay is slated to open on November 1.

Bajans have money for what’s important to them. It’s those that are always complaining about how hard things are, have or find the money when they need it.

The gap among the rich and struggling poor needs to be highlighted and lessened. When our children are now driven to prostitution and theft….where are the voices of righteous progress..

check the beds for bed bugs, no joke.

Angela, truer words have never been spoken. Not only should the beds be checked, but all other pieces of furniture should be checked thoroughly for those pesky little blood suckers. Trust me, I have firsthand knowledge of hotels and bed bugs.
