Two years for robbers

Two men convicted of a spate of burglaries in the north of the island were today each given two year sentences.

Jamal Oneal Hurley, 33, and Akeil Hezekiah Callender, 27, both of Deacons Farm, St Michael pleaded guilty to six counts of burglary for which they were jointly charged when they appeared at the Holetown Magistrates’ Court early this afternoon.

Hurley was charged with an additional count, bringing his total to seven burglary charges. Police say the crimes occurred at beach and holiday villas along the West Coast.

Magistrate Manila Renee sentenced the men to two years concurrent and warned them to stay away from crime when they come out.
