Officer charged with assault

COURT TODAY BLOCKPolice constable Bernard Athelston Brathwaite has been charged with assaulting Kimberly Latoya Adams, the mother of his child, and occasioning her actual bodily harm on June 3 this year.

Brathwaite, who resides at #16 Central Close, Mount Brevitor, St Peter, went before Magistrate Wanda Blair in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court earlier today. He pleaded not guilty to committing the offence.

Meanwhile Adams, 29, of Station Hill, St Peter was also charged with assaulting Brathwaite on Tuesday. She appeared in the same court.

Both accused pleaded not guilty, were granted $3 000 and their cases adjourned until September 21.

The court ordered both parties not to have any further contact with each other besides the handing over of their child.

    Domestic violence again and this time the people charged with defending the abused are the abusers. When will this stuff end.
    Has this officer been suspended or any disciplinary action taken. How can you expect the public to respect th law and the keepers of the law when we have such nonsense in the ranks.
