Elderly man trapped following Hopewell collision

Fire officers were this evening using the “jaws of life” to remove an elderly man who was trapped in his Suzuki van following a collision with a wrecker truck at corner of Hopewell Development, St Thomas.

Unconfirmed reports say the man, whose name is not yet known, sustained a broken foot.

Two fire tenders responded to the emergency call to rescue the injured man.

The condition of the driver of the wrecker was unknown.
