Woman apologizes for behaviour on Bush Hill
After using obscene language at Bush Hill, St Michael early this morning, a 25-year-old mother was convicted, reprimanded and discharged when she appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick today.
Nakita Thandica Karen Jones, of Oxley Street, St Michael admitted to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court that she used the words “This is my *****. I got a child home hungry and I got to get two ***** before I go home.”
The court heard that Jones was standing along Bush Hill clad in only a short top. Her vagina and buttocks were exposed so police spoke to her, asking her to dress and move from the area. She was also warned that she could be arrested.
Jones responded that the lawmen could not arrest her without the presence of a female officer. Further, she threatened to shout rape if they touched her.
She was arrested and charged.
When she appeared in court, fully dressed, Jones apologized for her actions and her language, but said she could not recall using the words.
“I was going through a little stress,” she explained.
“The police are your friend,” Magistrate Frederick said. “If anything happens to you out there in Bush hill, who are you going to call?”
“The police,” the woman responded.
“Not that you should be out there – but I am sure the police patrol out there to try and keep you safe.”
