$350 fine for assault

COURT TODAY BLOCKIf Henderson Ricardo Goddard does not pay a $350 fine in one month, he will have to spend two months in prison.

Goddard appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today, where he pleaded guilty to unlawfully assaulting Angela Alleyne.

Goddard, 54, lives at Chelston Gardens, Culloden Road, St. Michael.

The facts, as presented by Sergeant Neville Reid, revealed that the complainant was leaving the compound of the Worthing branch of the Republic Bank on April 16, when she collided with Goddard’s bicycle.

He was riding toward the City on the wrong side of the road at the time.

Alleyne got out and, after examining the state of her car, called the police.

Goddard then armed himself with a half of a cement block and approached the woman with it. After a few seconds, he dropped the block, got on his bicycle and rode away.

A security guard from the bank later identified Goddard. However, the unemployed man insisted that although he had the block, he never raised it.

Goddard went before acting Magistrate Alliston Seale.
