CARIFTA Spotlight – Nkosi Dunwoody

Nkosi Dunwoody

Name: Nkosi Dunwoody

Medals: 7 gold,

1 silver

United States Virgin Islands Memorial plaque for winning the 200m and 400m freestyle.

For first-timer Nkosi Dunwoody, CARIFTA was an enriching experience. Not only did he get to swim to his heart’s delight but he also made new friends.

He humbly describes his performance as “credible” after what he described as tough training.

“My schedule was practically swimming all the time, swimming in the morning, then school and then swimming in the evening.”

The 12-year-old Harrison College student is now gearing up to compete at the Caribbean Swimming Federation (CCCAN) Championship in El Salvador in June.
