Serious bodily harm case dismissed

COURT TODAY BLOCKA case against Ryan Ricardo Belle was dismissed today for want of prosecution, due to the death of the complainant.

Belle, 23, of Reed Street, St Michael, went before Acting Magistrate Alliston Seale in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.

He was accused of causing serious bodily harm to Albert Boyce with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him on October 10, 2013.

However, Belle has another charge for which he must return to court on June 24. That relates to assaulting Shamar Massiah on November 9, 2013.

Just last month, Boyce’s two matters were also dismissed after a death certificate was produced to confirm that he had passed.

The 20-year-old of Hutson Alley, Reed Street, St Michael had been charged with robbing Callam Bernard of a cellular phone and jewellery worth $10,900 and causing serious bodily harm to the complainant on April 25, 2011.
