It was a sizzling day of track and field action when the semi-final round of the Pine Hill Dairy-sponsored National Primary Schools Athletics Championships (NAPSAC) took place at the National Stadium today.
The final which is scheduled to take place next Wednesday at the stadium should see some intriguing battles in the respective divisions. Here is a pictorial review of some of today’s excitement.
Kiara Payne (left) of St Stephen’s Primary won her heat of the under-13 girls 100m.
Savion Hoyte really had tongues wagging when he blew away the field to win the under-13 boys 400m.
Shamari Addison of St Alban’s Primary (right) produced a sensational run to come from behind and win the under-nine boys 4x100m ahead of West Terrace.
Sikia Best of Bay Primary won the final of the girls open high jump at a height of 1.38m.
Tonika Griffith of Lawrence T. Gay Primary won the under-nine girls 80m dash easily.
