Jamaican woman caught with cannabis

A 54-year-old Jamaican woman is due to appear in court here today to answer a total of four drug offences after 2lbs of cannabis was discovered in her luggage on arrival at the Grantley Adams International Airport yesterday.

Members of the Drug Squad have charged Jennifer Minerva Taylor with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of 2lbs of cannabis.

Taylor arrived by air on Monday from Jamaica. She was interviewed by police and referred to customs before a search of a box, which was part of her luggage, revealed seven packages of cannabis weighing 2lbs concealed in a cooler.

Taylor is expected to appear at the District B Magistrates’ Court.
