Cop’s case dismissed due to lack of files

COURT TODAY BLOCKA case in which the complainant was a policeman, was dismissed by acting Magistrate Alliston Seale today, after the prosecution had no file with which to start the matter.

Patrick Oneal Collymore, of 3rd Avenue Holders Land, Brandons, St Michael was charged with assaulting and resisting Jason Hurdle in the execution of his duties, on March 30, 2012.

The acting magistrate felt that it was unacceptable that it was a case in which “one of their own” was assaulted and yet no file was available. He therefore dismissed the matter for want of prosecution.
