Duo to go on trial for robbing Senator

COURT TODAY BLOCKThe High Court trial of two St Michael men accused of robbing a Government Senator of a cellular phone in October 2011 will begin next Monday.

Reneko Jamal Taylor, of Block 5F Division Drive, Eden Lodge and Jermaine Julia Andre Worrell, of Hinds Hill, Cave Hill will appear in the No 5 Supreme Court before Justice Olson Alleyne on a charge of robbing Senator Irene Sandiford-Garner.

Worrell will face an additional count of unlawful wounding.

Sandiford-Garner was sitting in her vehicle on the compound of Massy Stores (formerly Super Centre) in Warrens when the duo allegedly stole her mobile phone.

Principal Crown Counsel Elwood Watts will prosecute the matter.

Taylor is being represented by attorneys-at-law Marlon Gordon and Saffiya Moore, while Kendrid Sargeant is appearing for accused Worrell.
