Bail revoked after man harasses complainant
Last January, Dwayne Omar Ward was granted bail on a December 2013 assault charge.
But he is now behind bars after the complainant in the matter told the court that he was harassing her.
Ward, who resides at Dayrells Hill, Christ Church, pleaded not guilty to the charge when he first appeared at the District “B” Magistrates’ Court.
When the matter came up again last week, the woman told the court that Ward had been repeatedly texting, calling, and threatening her, and had even beaten her on one occasion.
She also said she was afraid of him.
When Acting Magistrate Anthony Blackman asked Ward if he had anything to say, the accused replied: “If she say so, that is what it is.”
After hearing that response a second time, Blackman revoked Ward’s bail and remanded him until March 25.
