Two clubs secure pool victories
Eastern Sports Club and Casablanca Stars secured victories as the Barbados Pool Development Organisation 2015 tournament continued over the weekend.
On Saturday at Mr.Q, Eastern smoked the Q-Bandits by a 8-3 margin, although they put up little resistance with the score being 3-2 and one stage. Gregory “John Wick” Gibson proved that he’s the “original bandit” forcing Immanuel “Iman” Babb to “commit suicide” in the first game and then destroyed him in the second.
Defenders bounce back from their first game defeat to the champions to beat the Saints 8-3. Stars shone bright to dim the lights of Technicians 6-5. One spark for the other Heavy Sweetz-based club was the return of female player Debra “Dee” Stoute who was victorious over Receda Clarke.
The other came with Police and Crazy 8’s not playing due to some resistance from the law and saw a 11-0 victory awarded to the Worthing, Christ Church-based club. On Sunday, the Police team took out their frustration on the “bandits” and manhandled them 8-3.
Once again Shurland “The One” Spooner proved too much for Immanuel Babb with two-straight win which included a 7-up. Stars continued their dream start with 6-5 win over Kangaroo’s. Eastern and Technicians recorded 10-1 victories over Saints and Crazy 8’s respectively. Once again “John Wick” slaughtered his opponent F.Hardwood two-straight with a 7-up with saw the home team 8-0 at one stage before Wayne Clarke pulled back the reigns to be the “lone” winner over Randy Brathwaite 10-6, 10-3. Matches continue this weekend.
