COLUMN – Neesha –– sharing the love
It is the weekend for special love.
With this in mind, Barbados Music Awards Gospel Artist Of The Year nominee and recording act Neesha Woodz will be doing her part to spread the love –– in music and song. Neesha will be among a list of secular performers bringing joy and good cheer through the Love, Poetry And Song –– The Lovers’ Edition tomorrow night in the Charles Fort section of Hilton
The event is not all about performing though. It will also serve to give back to those who are in need. That is why patrons are being asked to bring non-perishable items for the HIV/AIDS Food Bank when attending the 7 p.m. show.
Last week we said that gospel music-related events continued to piled on between this month and the next.
We listed the Queens Of Gospel Concert on February 21 and 22 at the Wildey Gymnasium, the Caribbean Praise Fest 2015 –– The Barbados Edition slated for March 28 also at theWildey Gymnasium and CITA Radio’s Jam 4 The Lamb scheduled for February 27 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the MERC [Multi-Education Resource Centre] Complex on River Road, St Michael.
Today, yet another big extravaganza is being added.
This time, prepare for Incredible Praise –– Worship Without Borders coming to the Sanctuary Empowerment Centre, MPower Complex, Country Road, St Michael, also on March 28.
The headline acts include De Warrior, Neesha Woodz, Promise, Gozzy, Samara, Sherryann Maughn and Kris Ann Hutson.
That event starts at 6:30 p.m.

CITA Radio’s Jam 4 The Lamb, which is a series being staged the fourth Friday of every month, takes place this month
at the MERC[Multi-Education Resource Centre] Complex on River Road, St Michael. In store will be a $500 step-up dance competition prize. Prospective participants are being urged to bring their dance team for a chance to be blessed.
This month’s Jam 4 The Lamb will feature Youth Impact with KP and D Switch. However, for those who are not yet aware of the two previously mentioned shows, here we go with the details.
For the Queens Of Gospel Concert, the Saturday, February 21 segment will highlight international headliners Yolanda Adams, Michelle Williams and home-grown royalty Neesha Woodz and Laurianne. The following night will focus on global icons Cece Winans and Erica Campbell, and local queens Sister Margrita Marshall and Toni Norville. Both sessions begin at 8 p.m. and will be hosted by Barbadian award-winning songbird Paula Hinds.
The March 28 Caribbean Praise Fest –– from the producers of the Break Every Chain Concert series –– is a potpourri of Caribbean musical vibes spotlighting Neesha Woodz, De Warrior, Fenton Harry, Shine The Light, Kevin Downswell, among others.
