Dog gets St John man in trouble with the law

COURT TODAY BLOCKA 39-year-old man went before the District “C” Magistrates’ Court today for a rare case of permitting his dog to be in a public place without a leash.

Richard Stetson Savoury, of College Land, St John, who said he had found the dog in a gully, also faced a charge that he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Don Harding.

He denied both offences which allegedly occurred on January 9 at Sergeant Street, St John, when he appeared before Magistrate Christopher Birch.

Savoury’s matters were adjourned until May 11.
