Yellow House are the new athletics champions at Bay Primary after winning yesterday’s inter-house sports at the National Stadium with 418 points.
Last year Yellow House came last but this year they redeemed themselves and took out Blue House who won last year but had to settle for second place with 313 points. They were followed by Green House in third place with 291 points and Red House in fourth position with 271.
Mark Cummings of Green House was named victor ludorum with a tally of 40 points. He was just unbeatable in the under-13 boys 600m open, 400m, 200m, 100m and long jump with a distance of 4.60.
Green House also claimed the victrix ludorum title which went to Danika Roachford with 38 points. She was in good form all day winning the under-11 girls 100m, 200m and 400m.
The under-11 boys’ division title went to Kemar Butler of Yellow House with 30 points which was earned with big wins in the 100m, 200m and 400m. Meanwhile the under-13 girls champion was Xiomara Aymes of Blue House with 28 points which came from wins in the 100m and the 200m and second place in the 400m which was won by Sanaa Best of Yellow House.
Yellow House dominated the under-nine boys and girls division. Latavia Joseph-Greenidge captured the girls’ honors with 30 points accumulated through wins in the 80m, 100m, 150m and long jump. Thierry Griffith scored 28 points while winning the 80m, 100m and placing second in the 150m dash.
