Yellow topple red
Yellow House came out on top at Wesley Hall Primary School’s inter-house sports at the National Stadium today with 394 points and finally broke Red House’s winning streak which they held for six consecutive years.
Blue came second with 356 points while Red House placed third with 309 points and Green House tallied 294 for fourth place.
Both victor and victrix ludorum winners came from the under-nine age group. Kevion Newton is definitely a young star in the making, scoring 40 points for Yellow House. He won the 80m, 100m 150m and long jump and came from behind to anchor his house to victory in the 4x100m relay.
Tiara Millar came out tops after winning the 80m and long jump and finishing third in the 100m while tallying 31 points.
Zachary Alexander of Blue House won the under-11 boys division with 30 points while in the girls under-11 division top honors went to Lanecia Harewood of Yellow House who notched up 26 points. Alexander came out on top in 100m, 200m and long jump. Harewood won the 200m and 400m but came third in the 100m.
The under-13 boys division belonged to Amari Knight of Red House with 26 points. Knight slammed the field in the 100m, 200m and took third place in the 400m. In the girls’ under-13 category, Sheyenne Catlyn with 30 points was top of the pack. She won the 100m, 200m and 400m.
