Sir Harcourt Lewis to get official funeral
The late Sir Harcourt Lewis, former senior public servant and Cabinet Minister, will be accorded an official funeral.
The service of thanksgiving will take place at Bethel Methodist Church, Bay Street, St Michael on Saturday at 10 a.m. and will be open to the general public.
People will also have an opportunity to pay their respects and sign condolence books, prior to the official funeral service, at several locations. Tomorrow, a condolence book will be placed in the lobby of the Parliament Buildings, from 10 a.m.
to 4 p.m.
On Thursday, the body will repose at the Barbados Public Workers’ Cooperative Credit Union Limited, Belmont Road, St Michael, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A viewing will also be held that same day at the National Union of Public Workers, Dalkeith Road, St Michael, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On Friday, January 30, the body will also repose at the Democratic Labour Party Headquarters, George Street, Belleville, St Michael, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sir Harcourt passed away on January 13 at the age of 82.
