Business community replaces hampers after last week’s church robbery

Corporate Barbados has come to the rescue of the Dayrell’s Road Gospel Hall in Christ Church, which was hit by thieves last week as members were out distributing Christmas hampers to the needy.

The bandits, who broke into the building during the night, made off with thousands of dollars worth in food supplies, which were also destined for the needy, including shut-ins and the elderly.

However, after reading about the plight of the church in Barbados TODAY last week, members of the business community as well as other caring individuals have come forward to replace all of the stolen hampers.

Felton Ince, one of the church leaders, said the church was very grateful for the assistance, which has allowed it to add many more struggling families to its list for assistance.

Ince also thanked Barbados TODAY for bringing the church’s misfortune to the attention of the public, while disclosing they had even received an email for a group in southern United States, which was willing to assist.

In the meantime, police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
