St Michael named rulers of the court

The Inter-School Badminton Competition concluded on a high yesterday for the St Michael School in both the ladies’ single and doubles divisions.

Amanda Haywood defeated her schoolmate and rival Onika Moe in straight sets to capture the ladies singles.

Crystal Derrell of Queen’s College was third and Chrisliyn Deukett of the Convent School in fourth position.

Haywood and Moe then teamed up to win the girls’ doubles title, defeating Deukett and Riana Butcher of Christ Church Foundation School. Queen’s College’s pair of Derrell and Robin Sobers placed third.

In the men’s doubles, Queen’s College came out on top, 3-2 after they conquered players from Harrison College, Lester Vaughan and Foundation.

St Michael defeated Combermere 3-2 to cop third place.
