St Michael School trashed by Springer
Springer Memorial destroyed the St Michael School 50-8 in the WIBISCO 2014 Senior Girls Basketball Tournament this afternoon.
Playing at their Government Hill based institution, Springer’s onslaught was led by Shakeilla Smith and Kylia Smith who scored ten points each. Springer needed just 22 shots for their 50 points, while St Michael scored all four of their shots.
The performance sent a strong message to all of the teams participating in the tournament, including last year’s champions, Queen’s College, that Springer are hungry and will be going after the coveted trophy.
In the other game played, Graydon Sealy’s all-round dominance in secondary school basketball continued with the girls, who won 45-27 over Combermere.
The girls from Waterford had no answer for Shonica Wharton who top scored with 14 points, and she was ably assisted by Latifah Wood, 11 and Ashantia Phillips, who scored ten.
Combermere was led by Tatyanna Waldron who had a team-high 13 points and Sheniqua Thomas added 10.
