Semi spots booked

Graydon Sealy Secondary and Ellerslie both marched into the semi-finals of the Massy United Insurance Secondary Schools Basketball competition with convincing wins yesterday.

Playing in the knockout stage of the competition at home at Paddock Road, Graydon Sealy defeated Foundation 67-39 in a one-sided affair.

Graydon Sealy were led by Andrew Ifill who scored 26 points while Amal Smith ended with 20 points.

For Foundation, Nathanil Waithe and Shaquan Carrington scored ten points each.

Ellerslie also recorded a comfortable victory at home over Lester Vaughan Secondary, striding to an easy 62-47 triumph thanks to the talented Jehu Lafueille who knocked down 23 points.

Akeem Brathwaite chipped in with 14 and points while Delano Watson finished with 12.

Lester Vaughan were led by Brandon Hope who scored 19 points, with support from Zachary Cave who ended with 15 points.

Tomorrow both teams will know their semi-final opponents when Harrison College take on Queens College at home and Barbados Community College play against Combermere at the YMCA.
